The Venue in Kobe, Japan
The venue at the Kobe International Convention Center is ideal for this meeting for several reasons: 1) Close proximity to the Japan Environmental Storage and Safety Corporation (JESCO) Osaka regional facility, a model for treatment of transformers, capacitors, ballasts, and other PCB contaminated wastes. This will be the Thursday field trip location. 2) Easy access for national and international conference attendees. The International Conference Center is located on Port Island, about 10 minutes from downtown Kobe and only 8 minutes from Kobe International Airport, 3) The Kobe International Convention Center is widely used for conferences large and small. The International Conference Room has capacity for 360 delegates and provides a 6-language interpreting system for international audiences. The Reception Hall caters for breaks and meals and 18 smaller meeting rooms are on hand for side-programs and theme sessions, etc.
The conference hotel, Portopia Hotel, is located just across the street from the center.
